The construction will proceed in two phases, aiming to establish a port with a total capacity of 298 million metric tons per year and a container handling capacity of 23.2 million TEUs.

The total project cost of ₹76,220 crore includes land acquisition expenses. The core infrastructure will be complemented by terminals and other commercial facilities developed under the PPP model. The port will feature nine container terminals, each 1,000 meters long, with four multipurpose berths, coastal berths, four liquid cargo berths, one Ro-Ro berth, and one coast guard berth.
